April 15, 2019- Elizabethtown Area High School seniors Katherine Bomboy and Amos Kollie were named the Elizabethtown Rotary Club’s students of month for April. Bomboy and Kollie were honored for their high academic achievement and extensive involvement in school and community service activities. 

Bomboy is the daughter of Andy and Lori Bomboy of Elizabethtown. She is member of the prestigious National Honor Society. Bomboy is active in numerous school programs and activities including Yearbook, Mini-THON, and Key Club. Bomboy has earned several underclass awards for academic excellence including in the areas of graphic design, painting, and algebra.

Bomboy is active in the community where she is a participant with the local Girl Scouts. She has volunteered to refresh the local community park, painted store windows downtown for the holiday season, and baked cookies for the homeless.
April Students of the Month
Bomboy plans to attend Kutztown University and obtain a degree in Communications.

Kollie is member of the prestigious National Technical Honor Society. Kollie is active in numerous school activities including Mini-THON, boys’ basketball and football. Kollie was a captain of the basketball team his senior season. He has also earned recognition for his play on the court where he has been a member of the Lancaster-Lebanon League all defensive team and as a section 2 honorable mention all star.

In the community, Kollie has been a volunteer counselor with the Bears Youth Basketball Youth camps.

Kollie plans to attend West Chester University and major in exercise science with hopes of ultimately obtaining a doctorate degree to become a physical therapist.
