Olivia Nilsen
Olivia, daughter of Hyung Ku Nilsen and Amy Nilsen of Elizabethtown, has exemplified outstanding academic and leadership qualities throughout her high school career. She was inducted into the T.H. Ebersole Chapter of the National Honor Society, demonstrating her commitment to scholarship, character, leadership, and service. Olivia's academic excellence was also recognized with awards in AP Calculus.
Her involvement in school goes beyond academics. Olivia holds leadership roles in Key Club, Model United Nations, the book club, the tennis team, and the orchestra, among others. She is also an active member of the Human Rights Club and the PIT orchestra.
Beyond school, Olivia has earned the prestigious Girl Scout Gold Award and participates in numerous community volunteer activities. She is a member of the Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren and engages in youth programs at Cross Roads Brethren in Christ Church. Olivia works as a food and beverage supervisor at Hersheypark.
Olivia's next step is to attend Penn State University, where she will pursue a degree in biochemistry before attending dentistry school to become an orthodontist.
Derek Deardorff
Derek, son of Shane and Mackenzie Deardorff of Elizabethtown, has also made significant contributions to his school and community. He is the captain of the 2024 state champion bowling team, a member of the baseball team, the Student Welfare Agency Team, and Student Council. His prowess in bowling has earned him the title of a two-time Lancaster-Lebanon League all-star.
In the community, Derek has shown his dedication and work ethic by serving at Masonic Village, working on the maintenance staff at Willowood Swim Club, and working part-time at Clearview Lanes.
After graduating, Derek plans to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Air Force.
