February 4, 2020- Elizabethtown Area High School seniors Emma Musser and Tristan Mabee were named the Elizabethtown Rotary Club’s students of the month for February. Musser and Mabee were honored for their high academic achievement and extensive involvement in school and community service activities.

Musser is the daughter of Greg and Jodi Musser of Mount Joy. She is a member of the prestigious National Honor Society. She is active with the Bible Club and the high school’s Future Farmers of America (FFA) program. Musser earned the distinction of 2020 Homecoming Queen.

As a member of FFA, Musser has earned numerous statewide awards. Her honors include first place in the PA FFA Swine Entrepreneurship Proficiency contest, a finalist in the PA FFA Diversified Livestock Proficiency contest, second place in the PA FFA Prepared Public Speaking contest, sixth place in the PA FFA Creed Speaking contest, and PA FFA Second Year Scholar distinction. She’s also earned the Star Greenhand and Chapter degrees as a member of the Elizabethtown FFA.

Musser is active in the local agriculture scene. She has held numerous leadership positions with the Lancaster County 4H organization including treasurer, secretary, vice president, and president of the swine club; treasurer, secretary, vice president, and president of the beef club; and secretary of the goat club. She is also active with Lancaster County’s FFA serving as both sentinel and secretary. Musser is employed by Floral Designs of Mount Joy.

Musser plans to attend Penn State University with a major in agriculture science.

Mabee is the son of Duane and Joy Mabee of Elizabethtown. He is a member of the prestigious National Honor Society. Mabee is a member of the high school football and competition science teams. He is also active with the student newspaper. At the North Museum Science and Engineering Fair, Mabee placed second in the animal science category.

In the community, Mabee volunteers annually with the Global Aid Network.

Mabee plans to attend a local four-year college or university to earn a degree in Chemistry. He ultimately desires to be a member of a respected research team.
