January 9, 2020- Elizabethtown Area High School seniors Catherine Duncan and Steven Dixon were named the Elizabethtown Rotary Club’s students of the month for January. Duncan and Dixon were honored for their high academic achievement and extensive involvement in school and community service activities.

Duncan is the daughter of Charlynn Duncan of Elizabethtown. She is a member of the prestigious National Honor Society. Duncan holds leadership positions in numerous school programs including being a Mini-THON captain for three years and field hockey team captain for two years, as well as vice president of Key Club. She is also a member of the marching band and Aevidum Club. Duncan had the honor of representing EAHS at the Mini-THON Leadership summit her freshman, sophomore, and junior years. As a member of Key Club, she has attended the Kiwanis Club’s District Convention and Key-Leader program.

Duncan is active in the community. She has participated in Northwest EMS’s Junior EMS academy. She also attended the Rotary Club of Elizabethtown’s Youth Leadership program. Duncan is an active member of LCBC Manheim campus.

Duncan plans to attend Penn State University with a major in nursing. She hopes to specialize in trauma nursing.
January Students of the Month
Dixon is the son of Tom and Natalie Dixon of Elizabethtown. He holds several leadership positions at the high school.  He is a Mini-THON captain and captain of both the indoor and outdoor track and field teams. He is also active with the social studies department’s mock election debate program, and he represented the high school at the National Youth Leadership Conference in Washington DC.

In the community, Dixon is an active member of the Elizabethtown Brethren in Christ Church. He is employed by Jay Vending in Hershey.

Dixon plans to attend East Stroudsburg University to obtain a degree in exercise science with a career goal of becoming a personal trainer.
