March 5, 2020- Elizabethtown Area High School seniors Sierra Miller and Ben Wohlbowne were named the Elizabethtown Rotary Club’s students of the month for March. Miller and Wohlbowne were honored for their high academic achievement and extensive involvement in school and community service activities.
Miller is the daughter of Tony and Sue Miller of Elizabethtown. She is a member of the prestigious National Honor Society. Miller is president of the high school’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) club and treasurer of the Key Club. She is also active with the school newspaper.
As a member of FBLA, Miller has earned regional ad state awards. She place fifth in Personal Finance at state conference and second in Personal Finance at regional conference her junior year. During her sophomore year, she placed third Accounting at the state level and first in Accounting at the regional level. She also attended the national FBLA conference as a tenth grader.
In the community, Miller performs community service as part of the high school’s Key Club program.
Miller is a member of the Word of Life Chapel in Bainbridge.
Miller plans to attend Shippensburg University to major in Accounting and earn an MBA degree.
Wohlbowne is the son of Dr. David Bowne and Dr. Deb Wohl of Elizabethtown. He is a member of the prestigious National Honor Society. Hanley is a member Key Club, the Orchestra (cello), and a Student Ambassador at the high school.
An accomplished artist, two of his drawings were selected for display at the Millersville University Art Exhibit held at the Winter Visual and Performing Art Center. Wohlbowne has taken part in the Cubes in Space program where he was a national finalist.
In the community, Wohlbowne volunteers at the Winter’s Heritage House Museum. He is also active with the Construct Hip Hop Team at Morton’s Dance Center.
Wohlbowne plans to attend a university for a five-year Bachelor of Architecture degree.
