Elizabethtown Area High School is proud to recognize its September Rotary Club Students of the Month: Annale Nguyen and Lex Hershock. This honor celebrates students who demonstrate excellence in academics, leadership, and community involvement, highlighting their positive impact on the school and broader community.

Annale Nguyen 

Annale Nguyen

Annale is the daughter of David and Jessica Nguyen of Elizabethtown.

Annale is a dedicated student leader who serves as Class President, where she represents the interests of her peers and helps plan fundraisers for key events such as Junior Prom and Senior Trip. She has also made a major impact as Overall Chair for Mini-THON and serves as a Student Ambassador, Jump Start Mentor, and tutor. A talented musician and athlete, Annale is a member of the varsity swim team, orchestra (violin), and chorus.

Her achievements include induction into the National Honor Society, which recognizes students who exemplify the four pillars of scholarship, leadership, service, and character, as well as selection for the College Board's National First-Generation Recognition Program. In addition, the high school faculty honored Annale's excellence in Honors U.S. History by presenting her with an underclass award in the course.

Outside of school, Annale has competed for the Elizabethtown Aquatic Club (EAC) and the Mount Joy Lions Swim Team for nine years. She has also served the community through her employment as a lifeguard at Willowood Swim Club.

Looking ahead, Annale plans to attend a four-year college to pursue a bachelor's degree in engineering.

Lex Hershock

Lex is the son of Erica Hershock of Elizabethtown.

Lex Hershock

Lex is an active and accomplished student who has held leadership roles, including treasurer of both the Student Council and Future Business Leaders of America, while also serving as a commissioner in Link Crew. His musical talents are showcased in the marching band (as a section leader), concert band, jazz band, symphony orchestra, and musical pit orchestra. Athletically, he has contributed to the school's cross country, soccer, track and field, and lacrosse teams. He also participates in Mini-THON, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Bible Club, and the Superintendent's Advisory Committee.

Lex's academic and extracurricular excellence has been recognized through induction into the National Honor Society for exemplifying the four pillars of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. He has also been selected multiple times for the Lancaster-Lebanon Music Educators Association County Band. He has earned numerous Academic Excellence Awards, given by the high school faculty, in subjects including Health, Computer Science, Career and Finance, Spanish, and Honors Geometry. In addition, he is a proud recipient of the "Do The Right Thing" Award.

Beyond school, Lex attended the Rotary Youth Leadership Conference and works as a customer service associate at Adventure Sports and as a front desk associate at Willowood. He is also active in his faith community at Elizabethtown Brethren in Christ Church, where he participates in the youth group.

After graduation, Lex plans to attend a four-year college while continuing to pursue his passions for music and sports.
